Maya is a passionate student at Isaac Bear Early College, dreaming of revolutionizing healthcare and pioneering space travel innovations through the wonders of Biomedical Engineering and Biomaterials. Her journey is fueled by curiosity and a love for learning, whether it is diving deep into biochemistry and microscopy at a local university or leading initiatives in her school’s Student Government Association, Science Olympiad, and Women’s Empowerment through Education.
When she is not immersed in academics, you can find her racing through cross country and track & field events, both at school and in club competitions. She thrives on the thrill of the race and the camaraderie of her teammates.
Beyond the track and classroom, she cherishes her time traveling with her family, exploring new cultures, and learning languages—currently, working on Spanish, German, and Portuguese. Volunteering in her community, painting, and drawing are her ways of giving back and expressing creativity.
Maya’s ultimate goal is to make a meaningful impact in the field of biomedical engineering, improving lives through innovative solutions. This internship is a stepping stone towards that dream, and she is excited about the possibilities it holds to propel her dreams.
