Our statement on COVID-19:

2020 has only just begun, but here we all are, in a global pandemic. However, let’s not add Panic in the word Pandemic; it is imperative that we understand the situation and take precautions as and when required.

We would like to offer our deepest sympathies to those students whose exams were cancelled and those who have missed out on university teaching as a result of the pandemic. We would also like to offer our sympathy to international students who are unable to return home due to the imposition of certain travel bans.

While, at the time of writing, almost 900,000 people have been affected by COVID-19, it is worth recognising that this is not a hopeless situation. We have seen from many countries that with strict measures in place at early stages can keep the spread under control and that social distancing is indeed effective. We can only request you to stay indoors and take as much care as possible. We also humbly request you to not fall prey to or spread misinformation during these trying times. Please only refer to reliable and fact-checked sources for updates on COVID-19. We have linked some websites that can and should be checked on a regular basis below.

JYI is an entirely online organisation and so we shall continue to work on undergraduate research publishing and will recruit for new officers without any obstacles. From the Journal of Young Investigators (JYI), we’re here to inform you of all the ways we can stay safe ourselves and also protect others. Stay tuned for more updates.
