Each year we publish a printed ‘Best of’ edition in which the best of the papers and articles published throughout the year are displayed. We’re asking you to submit an abstract from any research you’ve done, these will be judged, and the best will be published in ’The Best of JYI 2020’. We’re also asking you to submit photos or figures from your original work to be used as our cover. Below are the guidelines for both competitions.
Deadline: April 15th, 2021. Please read the guidelines below before submitting.
Submission Guidelines:
You must be an undergraduate student at the time of submission
The caption must be written in English
Submissions must be in .jpg format or equivalent
Submissions must be your original work and must be science related.
Submissions can be photos, artwork or any form of illustration.
Ideal Dimensions: 10.75 * 8.25 cm
Submissions must be accompanied by a caption that effectively describes the photo, providing sufficient information for readers to understand the figure without being verbose.
Examples: confocal microscopy image, telescope image, photo of an endangered species, etc (see our previous covers here https://www.jyi.org/special-issues)
Submission requirements:
Author name(s), contact information, and university attended (+ proof of enrollment)
Figure title – limited to 15 words
Description - caption that effectively describes the photo, providing sufficient information for readers to understand the figure without being verbose. Limited to 75 words.
